The food industry has special demands on the quality of gases. “Food grade gases” are defined as gases used as a processing aid and/or additive in order to ensure compliance with standards. Our food grade gases conform to “food grade” regulations, e.g. the EC directive 96/77/EC on food additives within the EU countries.
The properties of the gas and the interaction of the gases with the food ingredients, e.g. solubility in the foodstuff, should be taken into account when choosing gas or gas composition. We supply food grade carbon dioxide, nitrogen, and oxygen along with other gases authorized for foodstuffs as individual gases in high-pressure cylinders, liquids in insulated tanks for subsequent mixing at the packaging machine, and premixed.
